I was hoping to receive them before Christmas because they were to be a Christmas present, but when I got them I love them so much I decided to keep them for myself. The story with Kim continues with this email I received on September 13: Hi, River,   Guess what guess what guess what?!!?!??!??!   Actress Alfre Woodard was just here in this very office in Cary, North Carolina, about 4 hours ago, and she saw my bracelet, earrings, and necklace and had a staff member come find me after she was done speaking!!!!   She sat down with me and took my card that has your Web site on it, and I rifled through my bag and gave her my very, very last bracelet and a pair of earrings, and she was sooooooo delighted!!!  She asked for more cards that she could give to six people, and it was awesome!!!   I wish I had taken a photo, but I was so completely gobsmacked by the fact that she was talking to me that I didn't even think of it, and then I didn't want to ask her to wait while I ran to get my camera.    And just then, my friend Paulette came by (she has purchased on of your necklaces and was wearing it at the time) and Alfre looked at Paulette's necklace and looked at mine and said, "Well, I guess I know a trend when I see one." Ha! River - YOU caused me to Meet Alfre Woodard !   So she gave me her address and asked if I would send her more cards and also some of the Obama stickers I have.   Hurray!!   Kim Well, I guess Kim is forever in my debt ;-) I'm sending her complimentary replacements of the bracelet and necklace she gave to Ms. Woodard !

I have a customer in Cary, NC named Kim, I think she is supplying the entire state with Obama Jewelry. She has taken it upon herself to make business cards advertising my jewelry and even purchases extras to have on hand whenever she encounters someone who notices her bracelets, earrings and Hope necklace. Recently she had a convention watching party at the theater where she works, as a fundraiser for the campaign she purchased some Obama jewelry to be auctioned off the highest bidder. The event was covered in the local paper along with a picture of my Obama jewelry !

I don't know if I told you that I was elected Delegate to  the National Convention committed to Obama.  I plan to wear my jewelry to the convention in Denver and I have two of your cards.  If you would like me to have more to hand out as people admire my jewelry, please send me some . I had so many comments on the necklace and passed out the extra cards you sent! One of my friends just grabbed the camera and took that shot and I love it--the necklace, my son--it seems to capture the whole essence of HOPE wrapped up in this campaign.

-Besides taking the opportunity to tell you how much I love your jewelry, I have a cool story to share with you. Last weekend Michelle Obama made a surprise stop at the campaign office in Eugene before she met up with Barack's motorcade to head up to the history-making Portland Waterfront rally. Meeting her in person was a gift I'll always remember. Anyway, I had been wearing my "HOPE" earrings daily for about a month in advance of the Oregon primary, so of course I was wearing them when I spoke with Michelle. After I introduced myself to her, she noticed my earrings, looked at them closely and commented that they were beautiful, and that she hadn't seen them before! We then got to talking about the importance of quality early childhood programs (I'm a preschool teacher) and she signed my copy of Dreams From My Father. I then moved back to allow another volunteer to speak with her and approached one of her staff about how to send gifts to Michelle. I got the info and came home and ordered some earrings from you, which arrived promptly. Thanks for that, by the way. You are awesome! I'm planning to send her a pair of "HOPE" earrings, with one of the cards you included with my order, placed in the package. I just wanted to let you know. - Jeanne
